Giveaway: Sid the Science Kid Sing Along DVD

Sid's Sing Along Special is a recent release of NCircle Entertainment.

Here's what this DVD is about: Sid wonders what he could possibly do on his day off from school.  But when all of his friends come over for a play date, they quickly put their science minds together and decide to put on a show in the backyard!  They each take turns rocking out as they sing their favorite science songs for a very appreciative audience of Mom, Dad, and Zeke!

There is a bonus episode included with the Sing Along special. You can find the whole thing for only $6.99 at Amazon. It is also being sold at Walmart, Kmart, Toys R Us as well as at the NCircle website.

This is a cute idea and a nice alternative to a lot of other shows aimed at the younger set. It may be just a tad below my family as my youngest daughter is now 7, but she still enjoyed watching it. I just asked her what she thought and she said, "I liked this movie because it had a lot of action. And singing. And science."

There you have it. But don't take our word for it. Watch a preview here:

It's 60 minutes of silly, sciencey, sing along fun. And at $6.99, it's a steal.

Anyone Remember Bonanza?

The first run of Bonanza was a bit before my time, but I definitely remember watching reruns of this with my dad. That's why, when I was sent Bonanza: The Official Second Season, Volume One on DVD from Paramount Home Entertainment, I was excited. I gave it to my dad for Christmas.

Here's the official write up on it:

"The Cartwrights are back – Ben (Lorne Greene), Adam (Pernell Roberts), Hoss (Dan Blocker) and Little Joe (Michael Landon) – in the first 18 Season Two episodes of BONANZA, complete with its stirring theme song and uncut on DVD for the first time. Join America’s first family of the West in this 5-disc collectible set as they battle outlaws, help the needy and romance beautiful ladies at the spectacular Ponderosa ranch and in rip-roaring Virginia City. Intense drama, Hollywood’s finest in front of and behind camera, and the debut episode of one the most renowned directors of the 20th Century, BONANZA: THE OFFICIAL SECOND SEASON – VOLUME ONE – the only authorized season two set – has it all!"

So there you have it. If you are a closet Bonanza fan, come out! You can relive your own rerun memories or make one of your parents happy by letting them relive it. My dad was thrilled to get this for Christmas this year!
