The first run of Bonanza was a bit before my time, but I definitely remember watching reruns of this with my dad. That's why, when I was sent Bonanza: The Official Second Season, Volume One
on DVD from Paramount Home Entertainment, I was excited. I gave it to my dad for Christmas. Here's the official write up on it:
"The Cartwrights are back – Ben (Lorne Greene), Adam (Pernell Roberts), Hoss (Dan Blocker) and Little Joe (Michael Landon) – in the first 18 Season Two episodes of BONANZA, complete with its stirring theme song and uncut on DVD for the first time. Join America’s first family of the West in this 5-disc collectible set as they battle outlaws, help the needy and romance beautiful ladies at the spectacular Ponderosa ranch and in rip-roaring Virginia City. Intense drama, Hollywood’s finest in front of and behind camera, and the debut episode of one the most renowned directors of the 20th Century, BONANZA: THE OFFICIAL SECOND SEASON – VOLUME ONE – the only authorized season two set – has it all!"
So there you have it. If you are a closet Bonanza fan, come out! You can relive your own rerun memories or make one of your parents happy by letting them relive it. My dad was thrilled to get this for Christmas this year!
