Giveaway: Bowtie from Tiecoon.com!

When we first came to seminary we thought that maybe some day Craig would pursue a doctorate and end up as a professor with one of those sweet tweed coats with the elbow patches, bowtie, and pipe.

We since settled for just the bowtie. I got him several of the tie-it-yourself variety several years ago and for the most part they have been unworn because, darn it, they are hard to tie. I did manage to follow a youtube video last Christmas and get a nearly perfect tie on him for a party we went to, but it hasn't happened since and I would have to watch the video again to reproduce it.

Enter the pretied bowtie from Tiecoon.com.

They offer solid black bow ties as well as several colors such as red, blue, white, silver, grey, yellow, and multicolor bow ties.

You can click here to see the whole selection of bowties on their site.  They also have a page of bowtie information here, and you can click here to learn how to tie a bowtie.

There you have it, everything you wanted to know about bowties. In truth, I prefer the look of the kind you tie yourself. But this pretied bow looks pretty good and in a pinch, would do the trick.

Now then, two of you can win a bowtie right now! Here's how to enter:

Giveaway: Guinness World Records 2011

One of the books we gave the girls for Christmas this year was the Guinness World Records 2011. They have browsed friends' versions before, but we've never had one of our own. There's just something really cool about flipping open a book and filling your brain with interesting tidbits.

For instance, did you know that the most participants in a badminton rally was 96?  The rally was held on May 23, 2009 and was set by Aviva (Singapore), in Raffles City Mall, Singapore.

Now  you know.

And now you can find out more interesting info all on your own by winning your very own copy!

Here's how to enter:

• Simply leave any comment on this post. Do you have a Guinness World Records memory? Do tell.  That's an automatic entry.

Disclosure: I received my own copy of this book for the purpose of review. To find the tidbit I mentioned above I had to hunt the book down. My kids are keeping it in the car and now that I think about it it really is the perfect car book. I keep a proper disclosure statement available right here.
